This is one of those melodramatic best sellers with constant drama and little exposition. It's a fast read. But it's a very 'convenient' story -- lots of coincidences and the story is very predictable. Still, the descriptions of the changes in Afganistan were interesting and after reading this book I am even more afraid of the Taliban. Last night at 3am I was convinced there was a Taliban dude with a long beard and brass knuckles hiding in my closet.

Oh good. Someone else didn't like this book. The emperor is wearing no clothes!
It didn't make me scared of the Taliban though. If anything, it made them out to be cartoon-like. In the book, they were no more scary than KAOS in Get Smart.
